Description
It was realised recently that simple extensions of the Standard Model scalar sector could lead to interesting scenarios for dark matter and matter antimatter asymmetry beyond the vanilla type. I will discuss two such realisations: First, continuous global symmetries on the scalar sector can lead to pseudo-Goldstone dark matter which has negligible direct-detection cross section in the traditional WIPM mass range but has indirect detection possibility in the future. Second, coupling a singlet scalar to right-handed neutrinos can lead to new sources of CP violation and result in a low-scale leptogenesis scenario that can be probed in on-going and future experiments.
