Description
Parabolic refractive X-ray lenses are genuine imaging optics in the hard X-ray range. They have a broad field of application, ranging from X-ray microbeam analysis and full field microscopy to beam conditioning and prefocusing. Made of beryllium, they have been shown to withstand the hard X-ray beam of the LCLS. The properties of these optics, such as wave front preservation in the focus and chromatic and spherical aberrations, are discussed in view of XFEL applications, in particular for beam transport and nano focusing.
