As part of the PETRA III extension DESY is planning to build two beamlines dedicated to X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy at the PETRA III storage ring. One will be employing the radiation form a short wavelength shifter; the second will use the radiation from an insertion device, a wiggler or an undulator. The end station at the insertion device will be dedicated to flux hungry experiments like Quick-EXAFS with sub-second time resolution and extremely diluted systems. The workshop aims at discussing the concepts for the two beamlines with their potential users. Your input is requested concerning energy ranges, energy resolution, beam size, special sample environments and whatever you consider as important. Another main topic of the workshop will be the decision about the type of insertion device for the Quick-EXAFS beamline.
