The fourth international workshop to bring together users and developers of the xFitter project. The topics will include current status and further developments in accordance with experimental analysis demands.

The workshop will start on Monday March 18th at 10am and will run till Wednesday March 20th around lunch time. Participants are welcome to arrive on Sunday March 17th.

Workshop dinner will be organised on Tuesday March 19th in the restaurant "Kuhmistr", 40 Karl Marx  str.,  at 19-00.

Some limited financial help for workshop attendance is available from DESY.

 

About Minsk:

Minsk  is the capital and largest city of Belarus. The population in January 2018 was 1,982,444, making Minsk the 11th most populous city in Europe.

The earliest historical references to Minsk date to the 11th century (1067), when it was noted as a provincial city within the Principality of Polotsk. The settlement developed on the rivers. In 1242, Minsk became part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. It received town privileges in 1499.

Transport: Minsk has an extensive public transport system. Passengers are served by 9 tramway lines, over 60 trolleybus lines, 2 subway lines and almost 200 bus lines.

Airports: Minsk National Airport is located 42 km to the east of the city.  It is an international airport with flights to Europe and the Middle East.

Languages:  Most residents of Minsk now use Russian exclusively in their everyday lives at home and at work, although Belarusian is understood as well. The most commonly used and understood foreign language in Minsk, especially among the younger generation, is English.

Culture: Minsk is the major cultural centre of Belarus. Its first theatres and libraries were established in the middle of the 19th century. Now it has 11 theatres and 16 museums. There are 20 cinemas and 139 libraries.
