Part of the dCache workshop will be hands-on sessions, during which participants are guided through dCache configuration exercises on a Virtual Machine running on their own laptops. |
In order to follow those exercises, participants are supposed to bring a computer with the following properties :
- The machine OS must be able to run the Virtual Box virtualization software
- The machine should at least hold 2 GBytes of memory
- and sufficient free space on disk (about 10 GBytes)
Our Göttingen hosts will provide a VERY limited number of spare Laptops.
In order to save time during the workshop, participants are urged to install the most recent Virtual Box version and the Virtual Image on their laptop/machine prior to the workshop. In case of problems, please get in touch with workshop@dcache.org.
