The event shall provide a forum to discuss innovative solutions to establish a culture of mixed team doing research in physics. In parallel workshops participants are invited to discuss
-
Good practice and bad practice concerning measures so far being implemented in German research institutions,
-
Identify the actors and their role in institutions necessary to achieve a systemic institutional change,
-
Analyse typical career paths to work out recommendations how institutions shall support young researchers in dealing with career breaks and later re-entry as well as identifying and removing barriers, and
- Help defining a vision for improving culture and career development in physics during the next decade.
In the second part of the event, the results of the parallel workshops shall be presented and provide the basis of a round table discussion with leaders in science and science administration as well as gender in science experts.
The results of the event shall be used in the GENERA project to define innovative measures to improve gender equality in physics.
Invited are male and female researchers from PhD student up to senior scientist/group leader level, executive managers in HR departments incl. HR development, gender equality and diversity officers working in physics oriented research institutions (incl. physics departments at universities) in Germany. The event is free of charge, only registration is required.
