Update of public-data portal
DESY, building 1, 2nd floor, SR 03a
2025-07-21 9:00 – 09:48
Tim W presented an update on the DESY public data portal.
-
He showed a case where a DOI was indeed minted; initiated by the user uses the provided tool for data ingest, the sisyphos.desy.de tool for reflectometry (work by Julia Kobus, CAU), and then continues the normal publication workflow within scicat.
-
He described in more detail the schema for the reflectometry technique (work by Philipp Jordt, CAU, which uses EXPANDS (expands.eu) results, and provided a schema registry as a gitlab repository for future schemata covering more experimental techniques, e.g. next the SAXS technique (small angle x-ray spectroscopy) and absorption spectroscopy benefiting from the DAPHNE structures.
-
A few things remain to be done to improve user experience and broaden its applicability. These include: adding connection to RAiD (raid.org), improving user experience of sisyphos and continue collaboration with further communities using different techniques.
One of the next meetings will cover the presentation of DCS final results round 2. Date tbc.
