The course "Rhetoric and pronunciation for scientists" is part of the skills and language programme "Negotiation and networking in English" of the PIER Helmholtz Graduate School and its cooperation partners.
The course is for researchers whose mother tongue is an East Asian language, and it is the pronunciation part that is specifically geared at native speakers of East Asian languages. Moreover, participants improve their skills in verbal presentations of scientific results with an emphasis on conferences and expert discussions. The focus is on rhetoric, strengthening vocabulary and effective pronunciation for successful information exchange. Newcomers are welcome to join in any time.

The course is reserved for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers of the PIER Helmholtz Graduate School and its coorperation partners CUI, EMBL and IMPRS-UFAST. Postdocs and PhD students from other graduate programmes in the PIER reserach fields may also participate upon request. Newcomers are welcome.

Membership in the PIER Helmholtz Graduate School (PHGS) is open for all PhD students from the research fields Particle & Astroparticle Physics, Nanoscience, Photon Science and Infection & Structural Biology. More information on the PIER Helmholtz Graduate School..
