This pre-meeting is part of the 11th MT ARD ST3 workshop.

The main focus of this workshop is an introduction to the open source FPGA Firmware Framework (FWK) developed at DESY. We demonstrate how to create modular firmware applications for FPGAs. FWK already includes Board Support Packages for widely used MicroTCA AMCs, which allow a quick start and full access to the board's components.

FWK provides a seamless integration into the ChimeraTK Software Framework for control application development. ChimeraTK has tools and libraries which range from direct register access on the hardware up to integration into the control system for facilities running DOOCS, EPICS or OPC-UA.
