Description
Deductor is a new program that generates events with a hard scattering and parton showers, but so far without hadronization or an underlying event. It is designed to be capable of including quantum mechanical spin and color carried by the partons. So far, the spin feature is missing, but an improvement over the standard leading color approximation is available. Deductor also differs from other parton shower generators in that initial state b and c quarks have nonzero masses and in its choice of shower ordering variable.  I will show some comparisons with the standard event generator Pythia, using the leading color approximation in Deductor.  Then I will show some results about color beyond the leading color approximation.
