Academic Leadership Programme - Career Strategies for Women

Although many young women study natural sciences, the number of female medical doctors and natural scientists declines dramatically from the postdoc-level upwards.

In order to promote the career paths of women in academia and to prepare them for leadership roles, the equal opportunity teams of CUI (The Hamburg Center for Ultrafast Imaging), the MIN Faculty of Universität Hamburg, and the UKE (the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf) designed this interdisciplinary training and networking programme.

The joined program aims to increase the number of female scientist in leading positions in the field of STEMM and encourage training and especially networking across the different research fields.

The programme consists of 4 individual workshops. It is possible to attend the workshops individually. But we recommend to participate in all four modules.

Module Goals

• Furthering self-awareness of one’s individual career in science
• Developing effective career strategies
• Acquiring hands-on tools to realize career opportunities
• Preparation for future leadership positions in academia

Target Group
Postdocs in a group leader position and associate professors of CUI, MIN, and the UKE (Privatdozentinnen und Juniorprofessorinnen).

All workshops will be held in English.

The number of places is limited to 15 participants per module. Your registration is pending until the final confirmation from the organisers, which will be sent to you after 12 October 2015.
