Description
The European Spallation Source ERIC is a next generation spallation neutron source that will provide unprecedented capabilities for researchers. The facility is a European flagship project and will complement existing neutron sources and other world class facilities coming online in Europe, such as the European XFEL.
The project is being constructed as an international collaboration of 15 countries and relies heavily on in-kind contributions to realise the technical scope. Although ESS has recently launched into construction, it has been around as an idea for some time already. This talk will focus on the ESS strategy and effort for building support in the member countries and anchoring in-kind contributions from partners.
