Description

There is a population of instruments built around Zynq7020 covering several applications: beam position (storage ring, linear), photon beam position, beam loss monitoring and as simple as digitizer. Laboratories, such as INFN, SPring-8 and PAL require higher sampling rates, more flexibility in the analog front-end and wider choice of connectivity (e.g. optical). The next generation of Zynq XX based instruments might be built as independent digital and analog front-end while retaining the software infrastructure that supports EPICS, TANGO and other clients out of the box. Possible candidates are the cavity BPM electronics and multi-channel digitizer, both with 250 MHz to 500 MHz sampling rates and optional exchangeable analog front end.
