Description
Starting from an effective N=1 6D supergravity theory we study possible vacua obtained upon compactification to 4d on an orbifold with flux. The ingredients (extra dimensions, gauge flux, Green-Schwarz anomaly cancellation, and non-perturbative superpotential terms) of this model are very similar to those arising in UV completions of the Standard model such as string theory. We explain all of these ingredients in turn and study the resulting low energy effective 4d action. We find that SUSY is broken at a high scale and show that for specific parameter choices Minkowski or de Sitter vacua can be constructed. We furthermore study the resulting mass scales in this toy model.
