Description
I will present the ALPHA collaboration's latest calculation of the
Lambda parameter of QCD. Our method relies
on experimental inputs of low energy quantities like pseudo-scalar
decay constants only. The scale dependence of a coupling in a finite volume
renormalization scheme is computed non-perturbatively
in lattice QCD over many orders of magnitude
in the energy scale. At high energies perturbation theory is safely
applied to obtain the Lambda parameter in any scheme.
