The workshop takes place from 10th to 13th of April 2017 at DESY, Zeuthen and it is organized within the framework of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie program High Performance Computing in Life sciences, Engineering and Physics (HPC-LEAP). The workshop will start with introductory lectures on scale setting and renormalization on Monday noon 10th of April 2017. Scientific topics include recent results using gauge configurations at or close to the physical pion mass, algorithmic developments such as multigrid and multi-level techniques and new developments such a direct computation of PDFs. It will include presentations from major collaborations on their results and experience with physical pion mass simulations in order to understand the challenges encountered with these state-of-the-art lattice QCD simulations.
