NRC “Kurchatov Institute” – PNPI in association with Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS), Munich, Germany will organize the First School on Neutron Research of Condensed Matter NIKONS-2018 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The purpose of the school is to introduce a wide range of students to the techniques of neutron scattering in the research of physics and chemistry of condensed state of matter, as well as in the biological and materials science research.
The audience of the school – bachelor students (3th-4th course), master students of the faculty of Sciences, PhD students and young professionals who are already carrying out their experimental studies in the area of condensed matter, but are not introduced to the techniques of neutron scattering.
We welcome the students of the Chairs of Physical Faculty of St. Petersburg University (Solid-state physics, Solid-state electronics, Molecular Biophysics and Polymer physics) as well as anybody who wishes to participate in the School.
Condensed Matter Department of NRC “Kurchatov Institute” – PNPI intends to make this School the qualification upgrading course and the course aimed at broadening the knowledge of its young researchers engaged in the construction of neutron stations at the PIK reactor. The lectures are given by the invited scientists from the leading Russian and European neutron centers.
The practical classes are conducted by the researchers of NRC “Kurchatov Institute” – PNPI: Evgeny V. Moskvin, Petr I. Konik, Konstantin A. Pavlov, Yu. M. Kireenko, Anita O. Petrova.
