Description
Exploring the unique role of water for life one of the top future challenges in chemistry. Whether fast protein motion and solvent dynamics are correlated at the very heart of enzymatic reactions is still under heated debate. In order to decipher the role of water for biological function, novel experimental methods for water mapping in real time are required. THz calorimetry maps the solvent reorganization and will allow to record calorimetric properties far beyond equilibrium conditions.
