Description
While introducing renewables as part of the energy transformation, combustion of fossil and alternative fuels remains important for power generation, transportation, and industrial processes. Combustion emissions cause increasing concerns. Recent results from combustion research will be presented with an emphasis on pollutant formation as a function of molecular fuel structure, relying on advanced diagnostics such as synchrotron-based in-situ mass spectrometry and high resolution microscopy.
