Description

DarkSUSY is one of the most widely used codes to compute dark matter properties numerically. As of version 6, it has been significantly re-structured and brought into a much more modular and flexible shape, allowing to easily switch between different pre-implemented dark matter candidates (or add new, user-specified ones). With this hands-on tutorial, we offer a general overview of the code structure, provide help with getting started from scratch - but also will learn how to efficiently use more advanced features of the code (such as the possibility to add new particle models).

Examples of calculations that could be covered in the tutorial.

Relic density for a generic WIMP model.

Spin-independent capture on various elements in the Sun.

Exploring the parameter space of a self-interacting dark matter model.

While the tutorial will be mostly aimed at PhD students and postdocs, everyone is welcome to attend!

Note that there is no registration fee for this event, but attendees have to arrange their own travel and accommodation (for suggestions, see the link on the left).

Participants are expected to bring their own laptop, preferrably with DarkSUSY 6 already installed. We will provide instructions on what to install prior to the workshop later.
