Description

ALPS (Any Light Particle Search) II is a light-shining-through-wall type experiment located in DESY, Hamburg with the goal to create and detect weakly interacting sub-eV particles (WISPs). The guiding principles of such an experiment and the salient features of each of its components are discussed, vis-a-vis the creation and detection systems. In particular, we discuss the detection of such particles via a Transition Edge Sensor (TES) system.
