Two paths to a unified relaxion solution to the hierarchy and strong CP problems

Description
I discuss two ways to unify the relaxion mechanism with a solution to the strong CP problem. The first ( by Nelson & Prescod-Weinstein) identifies the QCD axion as the relaxion and proposes a Hubble scale during inflation larger than the QCD scale thus violating the Quantum vs Classical restriction. We show how this can set off eternal inflation and lead to a measure problem that jeopardises the relaxion mechanism. We then discuss an alternative solution where the relaxion stopping point is identified with CKM phase and the strong CP problem is solved by the Nelson-Barr mechanism.
