Description
Interaction of intense infrared light fields with matter, be it gases or solids, leads to rich electron dynamics evolving on the sub-laser cycle timescale. These dynamics are recorded in the highly nonlinear optical response. This talk will cover our recent work on using such response -- the high harmonic generation -- to follow phase transitions in strongly correlated and topological solid state systems.
