Description
The power consumption of a MicroTCA.4 slot is limited to 80 W. This limits the performance of CPUs, used in MicroTCA.4 crates. One option to circumvent this limitation, is to extend the PCI express bus of the crate to a high performance computer, instead.
This poster will present the experience gained with such a setup. It will further discuss some of the pros and cons of this setup in comparison to the classic CPU-AMC.
