Celebrate the installation of the first components of ALPS IIc in the HERA tunnel with us!
After seven years of preparation, including challenging modifications to the existing superconducting HERA dipole magnets, the first of these magnets are ready to enter the tunnel. We mark this occasion with a fun-and-food ceremony on 28 October in HERA North.
The Any Light Particle Search project ALPS IIc is a light-shining-through-the-wall experiment to look for axion-like particles (ALPs) and other similar phenomena. It will combine extreme optics, very sensitive signal detection techniques and superconducting HERA dipole magnets to reach ALP parameter regions motivated by theory and astrophysical hints. A first data run is scheduled for 2021.
