Description

Genetic algorithms are heuristics inspired in natural selection, used for solving search and optimization problems. Here, I provide a practical introduction to genetic algorithms and their application to astrophysics. As an example, I will demonstrate how I use this method to optimize AGN models with vast parameter spaces in order to explain multi-wavelength observations.
