Matthew: Theory and simulation milestones:
* Beate:
# T2 is approximate trident, what does that mean, what's the difference with T5? Ben King: In trident Compton scattering and BreitWheeler, to do that properly need to take into account photon polarisation, can take the photon non polarized (approx good to 10%), T2 without polarisation, and T5 will be with it.
# Part of the simulation corresponds to when we freeze setup, so seems appropriate (simulation). Worry about the digitization, real detector response. How does that fit? When we have a new frozen simulation we probably want to redo everything. Based on this can define when we want to froze the releases to make the production. Matthew: Ok fair, do we want specific things to be included to froze things? Prioritize list of what we want to include in simulation to froze a release.
# Digitization needed soon, but do we need for the TDR? Do we want to use the software developed for ILC for the EDM? Root file for output? LCIO is a complete entire different format. Under discussion.
# Halina: digitization will probably comes after the first round of test-beams. For the alpide could already be done now.
# Central reco code need to be developed. Federico is seting up a central github repository to store all the software.
* Daniel:
# Input output format, the way this is changed. When does it come up? Need an event data model (how data are stored?). Harmonized the output of the simulation?
# Discussion for the theory output? HDF5 format. Tom will provide some help to read out the format. The way the data are stored in the file. Open PMD format?
# Why T3 before T4? T3 uses as benchmark to develop T4.
# CP means circular polarized, LP means linear polarized. LP would be nice for the profiler. TDR driven schedule. Beate: Can T6 come before T3 ?
* Louis: Evaluate resources needed for the simulation.
Sasha: Update on simulation:
* Beate: Slide 6 Which MC is being used throughout the talk? Does the MC look reasonnable? Tom: slide6: It's very strange that the XY IP strong distributions are different, they should be symmetric around 0. Could be due to parallel emissions of photons in IPStrong. Will try to understand what's going on in IPStrong. Should probably focus on using ptarmigan from now.
* Daniel: Can we make a fast simulation for linearly polarized lasers if we don't sample along the angle? Discussion with Tom, could be interesting need to be taken offline.
