Though in the lepton session this talk will also try to
discuss the challenge of triggering and data acquisition
at the LHC in general. The realisation of the trigger 
in hardware and software will be explained using the 
ATLAS detector as example. The concept and methods 
of trigger efficiency determination will be outlined
and some examples for lepton triggers presented.
