On Nov. 16th, 2021, PIER organizes a workshop on “Future joint research perspectives of DESY and Universität Hamburg in the context of Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld (SCHB)”. The aim of the event is to sound out new topics and possible links for joint research activities of scientists from DESY and Universität Hamburg (as well as further Hamburg research institutions) and provide an opportunity for idea exchange and networking. Special emphasis will be placed on possible new links with those UHH departments that will move (at least partially) to Bahrenfeld in the coming years, namely the departments of biology and chemistry. Another focus will be on current joint research initiatives of DESY, UHH and further partners in the fields of data science, materials science and quantum technologies & quantum computing. The workshop is intended as a kick-off event for more in-depth discussions and workshops in 2022.
