In this workshop you will learn the essentials to use Python for scientific computing. Ideally, you have some rudimentary knowledge in a different programming language (e.g., C, Matlab). The workshop covers the following topics:
- Getting started, installation, Jupyter Notebooks, Spyder, Anaconda, command line,
- First example (hello world)
- Python Syntax
- Plotting with Matplotlib
- Data treatment with Numpy
- Data science with Pandas
- Reading and writing of files
- Interpolation, fitting and filtering of data
- Example use cases of participants

This workshop is reserved for participants of the of the PIER Graduate Week 2022. The PIER Graduate Week is open for all PhD students in the PIER research fields and takes place on 21-24 February 2022.
