We are pleased to announce the second full workshop of the WavemiX network on “Non-linear methods in the XUV and X-ray range” that will take place remotely from 13-15 June 2022. (Info on the WavemiX network, including the composition of the advisory board that helped in shaping this workshop, is available here. Please send a mail to one of us, if you want to join the network.)

The development of X-ray Free Electron Lasers (XFELs) has allowed new types of experiments, especially in the ultrafast domain, hitherto impossible. The high fluxes, ultrashort pulse durations (reaching the attosecond time scale) and coherence properties of the beams allow for excitingly novel non-linear X-ray experiments, such as various wave-mixing schemes, multiphoton absorption and emission, stimulated processes and so on that promise to deliver unique insights.

Following the kick-off meeting (16 September 2020) and the online workshop (13-15 January 2021), we will meet again to gather the community in a workshop to update each other on the progress in various projects and further collaborations involving X-ray non-linear phenomena. This is a great opportunity for all interested scientists to engage in and inform the community, present results, and share innovative ideas for ongoing and future projects within the network. Our workshop will count on the discussion of projects to be shared with other members as introduced in the last workshop. In addition, the general progress of the field and opportunities for stimulating future steps forward shall be discussed. We believe that the challenges ahead in this field are best addressed in concerted efforts within large collaborations and the open exchange in this workshop shall optimally foster such endeavors.

A mixture of invited and contributed talks with plenty of time for discussion will take place between 4pm and 8pm (Central European Summer Time) each day, wrapped up by a summarizing discussion at the last day of our workshop and will allow for exciting exchanges of ideas and enable a stimulating .

Looking forward to host you at WavemiX 2022.

YOUNG SCIENTISTS WANTED!

We highly encourage  young scientists to participate and contribute. We welcome the next generation of scientists as an important foundation for the future of our community.
