Supernova (SN) explosions are catastrophic events in which extreme conditions of temperature and density allow a relevant production of feebly interacting particles. In this talk we focus our attention on axions (and axion-like particles), their production in the hot SN core and astrophysical signatures, ranging from the standard QCD axion to more general models of axion-like particles.
