We will report the methods developed in the last years regarding the use of superhydrophobic phenomena for the manipulation and aggregation of biomolecules or cellular constructs, in order to obtain molecular and structural information. The advent of XFEL represent an important opportunity to further push the investigation toward the dynamics underlying the aggregation mechanism and the structural information in the native liquid phase environment. The scope of the seminar is to find and figure out possible synergies between the preparation and investigation methods, in order to answer to new fundamental questions in the field of structural and functional studies of macromolecules as polymers and proteins or cellular components as cell membranes.
