Description
This presentation will address the "Quality and Project Management System" (QPMS) which has been implemented at the synchrotron project SOLEIL from the start in 2001, in order to meet the challenges in term of performances, costs, milestones, and risks.
The QPMS is customized to the specificities of SOLEIL, taking into account the limited team sizes and the staff profiles: scientists and engineers.
The methodological approach covers the whole project life cycle, organization and planning of tasks, everyday activities, and also anticipation of complex situations. The plan enables optimizing the resources and a smooth operation of the SOLEIL technical teams. Besides, Quality Assurance procedures control the life cycle of equipment, from the initial specification to the operational phase, even to the dismantlement. They include industrial follow-up, maintaining of equipments in optimal operation conditions, defects detection, traceability…
Quality Assurance rules and standards established by each technical group insure preservation and improvement of their know-how.
