Description

Workshop and Festcolloquium

On the occasion of Rainer Sommer's retirement, a half-day colloquium on precision physics from the lattice will take place, followed by a one-day workshop on the continuum limit and ideas for next-generation simulations.

The event will be held in Adlershof, Berlin, Germany, from 30 to 31 March 2023. Please note that rooms reserved in nearby hotels are available to book.

From “A new way to set the energy scale in lattice gauge theories and its application to the static force and αs in SU(2) Yang-Mills theory”, Nucl. Phys. B411, 839-854 (1994), Rainer's most cited paper. Here L is defined via the SF coupling, g2(L)=4.765, and the different extrapolations correspond to different scales R including the Sommer scale. The filled points show the effect of one-loop Symanzik improvement.
