Pushing the precision frontier: NNLO accuracy and parton shower matching
Pushing the precision frontier: NNLO accuracy and parton shower matching
10:00 - 10:45
Room: SR 2
In this presentation I will discuss some recent developments in precision simulations for the LHC. The first part of the talk will focus on fixed-order calculations of colour-singlet reactions within the MATRIX framework, with a special emphasize on the production of electroweak final states. Besides NNLO QCD accuracy relevant additional corrections in QCD and EW perturbation theory will be discussed. The second part of the talk will deal with the consistent combination of such higher-order corrections and parton-shower generators. In this context, I will introduce the MiNNLO method to match NNLO predictions with parton showers and discuss some of its various recent applications to collider reactions, such as Higgs, vector-boson, vector-boson pair, and top-quark pair production.
