Summary from Retreat \- [link to gdoc] \- Retreat Follow-up event 4 Nov Conclusions / next steps \- Attendance was limited, but important feedback and ideas received esp. from Ph.D. and postdocs. \- Overall, general support for the proposal, but a number of steps and todos remain open \- Plan to continue biweekly taskforce meetings, next meeting Thu, 22 September 11 am. \- Exhibit the posters, evaluate mentimeter, devise a survey \- Address open questions, e.g. DESY-wide event (see below) seminar on scientific computing, a.o.b. \- Finalize recommendations, presentation and writeup. \- Implement recommendations (already started with indico) Feedback from Beate \- Meet once with the early career scientist board + potentially other youngsters. \- Invite people from within Germany also regularly. I think this is good as it helps our role as hub. It can strengthen our connections to the universities. \- As for DESY wide event, in fact the "TED talks" I am also discussing already with Christian Harringa. Freya and Beate witing a concept. Maybe it is best that we do this first and then several people can look at it and we iterate? I would suggest for the TF to focus more on the other aspects for now. Discussion \- Duration / "heaviness" of the FH seminar
