Description

MATLAB is a FAIR, versatile, scientific tool for data analysis in physics and astrophysics, including for AI applications. In this presentation, you will learn how to use MATLAB to accelerate the three main aspects of a research workflow – data access, data analysis and data sharing.

First, you will learn about data access in MATLAB including a demo on reading gravitational wave data from public data portals.

Next, we will review good software development practices, including writing human readable code, interoperable workflows combining MATLAB and Python and scaling up by using MATLAB on a local or remote cluster.

Last, we will focus on writing open, shareable MATLAB code that can be reused for reproducing results within the community.

Shubo is a neuroscientist by training, who helps MATLAB users take advantage of shared data and compute resources on research clouds and science gateways across Europe. He also leads the effort to make MATLAB workflows FAIR, helping scientists practice Open Science with MATLAB.
