The DESY summer student programme 2023 will take place from July 18 to September 7 and this year have only about 2/3 of its usual capacity due to limited availability of hostel places as well as other constraints.

Each summer DESY offers undergraduate students in physics or related natural science disciplines the possibility to participate in the research activities of the laboratory at the Hamburg or Zeuthen (near Berlin) sites. The 2023 program will be back to on-site only (as before the Covid19 pandemic) and consists of two main parts:
1. Work projects: Selected candidates join in the day-to-day work of DESY research groups. As mentioned above we plan to have work projects on-site only this year. Students that are participating in the program are expected to work 39 hours a week (including lectures) and will be paid by the divisions/working groups.
2. Lecture program: While the work in the groups is the main activity, there will also be a series of lectures (given in English) related to the scientific research done at DESY. The majority of the lectures will be in the first weeks of the program. Application for the students is open until January 31st.
