Abstract : We shall review some known universalities which are known to occur in out of equilibrium set ups and how effective thermal descriptions emerge. We will find signatures of the effective temperature in scrambling behaviours of simple quantum systems. Next, we shall consider smooth, global quantum quenches for two dimensional, massless interacting fermions with a large number of fermions. We find that the spontaneously broken symmetry (in equilibrium) gets restored via the smooth quench, which can be interpreted through thermalization. We identify the scaling of the symmetry restoration time with the Kibble-Zurek scaling in the problem. We end with comments on thermalization and generalizations.
