Description

This is the first pilot phase of an interesting workshop series dedicated to doctoral students, organized by GENERA (Gender Equality Network in the European Research Area). GENERA Network originated from the EU-funded GENERA project and its purpose is to enhance gender equality in physics and to create a more diverse and inclusive culture in academia in Europe and worldwide. The network was established in August 2018 and is based on a Memorandum of Understanding. Meanwhile over 40 institutions have joined GENERA Network.

The aim of the workshop series is to design and implement workshops on career development issues for early career researchers bringing in a gender and diversity perspective.

This is the second workshop of the GENERA series on academic career development and is titled "Skills needed to build a (successful) career in academia". It focuses on some of the key skills necessary to build an academic career in science, more specifically in (astro)physics. The workshop is divided in two parts: the first one will review some of the basic core skills and how to acquire them, whereas, the second part will explore one essential career skill: networking! Join us for a hands-on, fun and interactive session.
