Beam transport via monochromators, mirrors, and lenses can negatively impact the x-ray beam from PETRA IV undulators. In order to diagnose the beam transport for wavefront distortions and degradation of coherence, a monitoring system is highly desired. One of the goals within the work package Nano-Optics in the PETRA IV project is the development of such tools for hard x-ray beamlines. In addition, we aim to fabricate x-ray lenses out of diamond at DESY to partly replace beryllium lenses due to negative effects from material impurities, shape errors, and toxicity. In the talk I will give a status update on these in-house developments, driven mainly by PETRA IV development beamtimes at P06 and other in-house collaborations.
