Description
Petra 3, European XFEL, MAX IV and ESS are important parts of the new infrastructure for research and development in the Baltic Sea Region. These facilities will create fantastic opportunities – and new challenges in co-operation and financing.
The EU commission is preparing the new funding period and is discussing an idea of increased use of structural funds in co-operation in research and development. Baltic Sea Region will be used as a pilot area to try new approaches in funding.
The flagship project BALTIC SCIENCE LINK will create a network of Research Infrastructure (RI), Universities, enterprises and administration in the Baltic Sea region to use more effective results and measurement opportunities at RI.
Regional co-operation, specialisation and regional effects will be discussed at the workshop in context to these initiatives. Representatives of Research Infrastructure, operational programmes, regional development agencies, universities, science parks, business incubators, venture capital, industry and science are invited to attend the workshop.
