This is an event organized by the ErUM-Data-Hub with support from DIG-UM. The workshop is intended for researchers interested in sustainability within ErUM-Data.

Key ingredient to this workshop are short 1-slide pitches from the participants introducing themselves/their work and current projects/progresses or experience with sustainability. This session aims to connect ErUM scientists and disseminate sustainability initiatives and ideas.

Afterwards, a discussion is opened where you can discuss your "hill-to-die-on"-opinions related to sustainability. Please write down your opinions in this google doc before the workshop starts (e.g. "Measurement precision may be sacrificed for sustainability!").

Registration deadline is June 13, 2024.

We are looking forward to an exciting evening and getting to know you.

  • Your slide may include: Information about you and your work, your experience with sustainability, a recent project/paper from the field or an idea for a proposal for the upcoming ErUM-Data Call.
  • Please note that this workshop format only works if everyone participates in the session.

Discussion on your "hill-to-die-on"-opinions:

  • In the second session, we will have an open discussion based on your "hill-to-die-on" ideas.
  • Please add your opinion (anonymously) before the workshop in this Google Doc. Be bold and creative.
  • In the discussion session, you will have the opportunity to read out your opinion and give reasons for it. Otherwise, opinions will be discussed anonymously.
  • The idea of the discussion session is to stimulate conversations about sustainability issues and to look at problems creatively, openly and from different perspectives. The prerequisites for the session are openness, willingness to listen and share ideas, creative and critical thinking and a pinch of humor.
