This webinar is designed for representatives from the photovoltaic industry who wish to stay informed about the latest advancements in X-ray analysis methods for solar cells and explore how these innovations can benefit their companies.
Brilliant X-ray light is an exceptionally intense and coherent form of X-ray radiation generated by specialized machines such as synchrotrons. This advanced technology enables the examination of materials and surfaces down to the molecular level, offering much deeper and more precise insights than those provided by laboratory-based radiation sources.
For solar cells, this technology allows for nanometer-range resolutions to detect defects, time-resolved assessments of charge carrier lifetimes and data on element distribution. Such knowledge is crucial for understanding processes in semiconductor materials and developing future generations of solar cells, for example perovskite solar cells.
Dr. Michael Stückelberger, a scientist at DESY, will provide an overview of various methods for analyzing solar cells and explain the technical background. Dr. Stückelberger has extensive experience in using synchrotron radiation to study materials, particularly in the field of photovoltaics.
The innovation platform Hi-Acts, represented in this webinar by Johannes Blum (DESY), is jointly operated by five Helmholtz research centers. It connects industry, medicine, and research professionals around the topic of accelerator-based technologies.
