Description
At PETRA III, DESY is planning to build a micro-fluorescence spectroscopy beamline within the scope of the PETRA III extension project which will provide several new beamlines to compensate for the shutdown of DORIS III end of 2012. This new beamline (P63) will be designed to cover the range of applications currently in the focus of the user community at beamline L (DORIS III). The radiation source for P63 will be a short undulator. Two different monochromators are planned to serve experiments requiring good energy resolution as well as high photon flux. Flux and spot size demands as well as suitable energy ranges have already been discussed in a first user workshop in 2010. The aim of this workshop is to present the current layout of the beamline optics and to discuss the users' needs for the experimental area. This will be an important step to finalize the conceptual design of the beamline.
