Summary

Driven by user demands and overall cost, the CERN AFS infrastructure will need to undergo an architectural
change in order to ensure a scalable service for its
10'000+ users. This presentation will give an overview
of the current setup at CERN, describe the boundary conditions and then discuss the approach chosen to
evolve the service.
