The DMA ST1 seminar usually consists of a ~30 minute presentation, followed by a Q&A discussion session.

Exploiting DMA for accelerator operation and the related data challenges

Abstract:
As everywhere, at DESY-M we are exploiting data along with data-based methods like machine learning for accelerator applications. While for the experiments, data has always been recognized as being the main asset, respective analysis methods are at the forefront and the infrastructure is well suited, this is not (necessarily) the case for the accelerator itself. I will present some applications from data analysis, anomaly detection and reinforcement learning and control with the related data challenges and limitations concerning data formats, storage, transfer and access.
