The KMPB School 2025: D-branes in Physics & Mathematics is a one-week program which will offer introductory courses covering topics underlying the modern understanding of D-branes in string theory and their incarnations in mathematics.
The school is organized by PhD students at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin with the support of the KMPB (Kolleg Mathematik Physik Berlin), an interdisciplinary center at HU whose community of research groups shares a mutual interest in mathematics and physics.
In the spirit of the KMPB, the school aims at generating synergies between mathematicians and physicists and welcomes early career researchers (PhDs/PostDocs) in both fields.
The program consists of the following six-hour mini-courses:
-
Swampland Program by Matilda Delgado (MPP & Harvard)
-
Homological Mirror Symmetry by Ailsa Keating (Cambridge)
-
Topological Strings by Albrecht Klemm (Bonn & Sheffield)
-
D-branes in String Compactifications by Johannes Walcher (Heidelberg)
