Meeting ID: 939 7287 8124
Passcode: 769139

Present: Federico, Jenny, Ivo, Louis, Massimo, Matthew, Ruth, Sasha

Introduction

  • LCS document review ongoing - will discuss reactions in main meeting or other open forum
  • clara should not have extra costs, but we might need to buy some components
  • Discuss simulation for new location - open to redesign, but not invalidating already bought detectors
  • laser packed up and arriving in DESY in 10 days
  • Laser use to be followed up with Jena laser YIG to add physics case to laser. Probe also other interests from DESY people.
  • Use laser for TCT TPA? (the laser would be several orders of magnitude more powerful than the average TCT TPA laser)

EDS

  • analysis ongoing on E320 data taking
  • Estimating uncertainty from backgrounds in cherenkov data
  • Proceedings of Vienna conference in instrumentation submitted (go to NIMA)

ELBEX

  • Discussions on fusion experiments ongoing.  More definitive statements after the summer (?)
  • XTD8 coordinator to be appointed so integration issues can be addressed.
  • CAD design ongoing
  • Are there components sensitive to radiation that are needed by other experiments in the new location? Not really
  • Plasma boosting? Study backgrounds, spent beams, need to understand if it works for a LUXE-like experiment

Software and simulation

  • have to assume that new location is default location for LUXE
  • ptarmigan supports now any electron beam
  • photon beam from laser could change significantly to what was studied in the TDR when we go to higher power. When are the fusion laser specs going to be known? Nobody knows yet.
    • So far assumed 40 TW and 350 TW with similar properties, i.e. size.  As a default for now, assume say 2 PW and same properties.

PDS

  • ECAL testbeam at DESY being prepared- not everything was smooth, but confident things could be ready by the time of the beam test
  • will use FLAME electronics instead of FLAXE
  • plan to test ALPIDE sensors in vacuum (to potentially get rid of multiple scattering from air and exit window)

DAQ

  • LCS review ongoing
  • dockerisation of  software started
There are minutes attached to this event. Show them.
